Right from designing and diamond assorting to polishing and assembling, we meet global standards of quality control mechanisms.
Our Process
1.Designing
The first and foremost step in the jewelry manufacturing process begins with a sketch, that brings to life what the creative minds at VM Jewellery conceptualize. What begins as a pencil sketch often turns into a full-bodied artwork. These designs are passionately refined and edited at our in-house design studio, after which 2D sketch versions are developed and the final design specifications are forwarded to the CAD team.
2.Computer Aided Designing (CAD)
To give our designs a horizon of endless possibilities, our CAD designers create 2D & 3D models that help us to analyze the design from every possible angle. While this process allows you to examine your jewellery before going into full production, bear in mind that the 3D model is designed first and foremost for practicality. After the CAD stage, the technical drawing is then forwarded to the CAM team.
3.Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)

4.Silver Master Model
To give our designs a horizon of endless possibilities, our CAD designers create 2D & 3D models that help us to analyze the design from every possible angle. While this process allows you to examine your jewellery before going into full production, bear in mind that the 3D model is designed first and foremost for practicality. After the CAD stage, the technical drawing is then forwarded to the CAM team.
5.Rubber Mould
The silver model is then packed in a sandwich of rubber sheets and exposed to high heat and pressure. The rubber moulds itself around the silver model and forms a precise 3D impression of the intended piece of jewelry.
6.Wax Injection
At an air pressure of 7 pounds, hot liquid wax is injected into the rubber moulds to create wax replicas. After the wax cools down in the rubber mould, it is peeled out and checked for excess wax that needs to be carefully cleaned to rule out excess material.
7.Wax Tree
Once the diamonds are securely set, multiple wax pieces are then fused into a wax tree. We then place the wax tree into a flask.
8.Investment
A plaster mixture is prepared which is poured into the flask. Once this mixture solidifies, the flask is placed inside a furnace for the wax to melt and the plaster to harden.
9.Casting
A plaster mixture is prepared which is poured into the flask. Once this mixture solidifies, the flask is placed inside a furnace for the wax to melt and the plaster to harden. The wax tree remains inside the furnace for nearly 12 hours, after which, the plaster hardens, and the liquefied wax is poured out. Only the hollow mould of the flask is left behind. We fill a casting machine with raw gold pellets and after the pellets melt, we fill the hollow plaster mould with hot molten gold. This is set aside to solidify. After cooling, we dissolve the plaster mould, and the gold cast is retrieved. What is left behind looks like a gold tree with gleaming sprouts.
10.Filing
In order to give a smooth and seamless finish to our jewelry pieces, we follow a filing technique that removes the casting layer and excess metal from the tree. The process involves casting, buffing and levelling and the end product passes through strict quality checkers who rule out unevenness.
11.Setting
Once all the components of a piece of jewelry are assembled, we redirect our attention to ensuring that the diamonds are set perfectly into the prongs. We use both machine as well as manual setting techniques to result in the most perfect finish.
12.Polishing
To elevate the pieces of jewelry to their epitome of beauty, polishing them is one of the most important steps in the process. We use highly efficient magnetic polishers to polish our jewelry. We also use an electropolishing machine to render a smooth and shiny finish to all our jewelry pieces so that even the most intricate settings are polished without any metal loss.
13.Rhodium Masking
Specific jewelry pieces are placed in a rhodium bath to ensure that it is glossy and sparkling. The rhodium masking is also done to effectively protect the pieces against tarnish and scratches. Rhodium masking is highly utilized when a piece is dual toned.
14.Quality Control
At each and every step of the manufacturing process, we pay attention to detail and ensure that quality control checks are executed. We also have a 15-point final quality checklist that results in nothing but immaculate jewelry. We would also like to mention that we source our diamonds ethically and they are all cruelty-free, making them genuine and our brand responsible in every possible way. All our diamonds are natural and are thoroughly checked to rule out CVD diamonds. We only source what is real and the most precious.
15.Packing And Dispatch
We ensure that each and every piece of jewelry is carefully packed and dispatched with utmost care so that there is no risk of damage in transit.
